THE FIRM:  Mr. Silverman has over 30 years of experience, including large Manhattan law firm experience. He counsels and advocates for individuals and companies in all aspects of federal and New York State taxation and litigation. His areas of expertise include tax and estate planning, federal and NYS tax litigation and appellate advocacy, criminal tax, probate and estate administration, wills and trusts, will contests, trusts, special needs trusts, like kind exchanges, asset protection, real estate transactions, and family business succession. Mr. Silverman received his J.D. degree from Columbia Law School and his LL.M. in Taxation from NYU School of Law. He has been licensed by the NYS Board of Public Accountancy to provide CPE Credits to CPAs since 2007. In that capacity, he has lectured extensively in diverse areas of income and fiduciary taxation, tax litigation, and trusts and estates.

TAX JOURNAL & TREATISES: The office publishes Tax News & Comment a tax journal (above) whose circulation among tax professionals is over 4,000. Subscribe.  Mr. Silverman authored Like Kind Exchanges of Real Estate Under IRC §1031 (2014). This authoritative treatise on like kind exchanges is now in its fourth revised edition. TAX SEMINARS: Mr. Silverman is licensed by the New York State Education Department to provide continuing education (CPE) credits to Certified Public Accountants. We lecture frequently to accountants, attorneys and organizations.

WE PROVIDE OUTSIDE COUNSEL: We are frequently called upon to provide counsel to accountants and to other attorneys for their clients.
